In Memory of Leslie

Aug 17, 2018 | In Memory

Leslie was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She had a strong love for life and a nurturing bone that could easily be recognized. Leslie adored children and before becoming pregnant enjoyed spending time doting on her friends children. She longed for the day that she would become a mother herself.

Leslie also cared for animals, most especially animals in need. While working at a local vet clinic she helped many animals become fostered and adopted into loving homes. Leslie had an eye for decorating and enjoyed antique shopping and working on her home with various home improvements projects. Most of all, Leslie lived a very content life and loved being at home with family. In spite of today’s busy world, Leslie found happiness in the simple things.

Her dream to raise a family was tragically cut short when Leslie suffered an AFE on December 9th, 2014 and passed away 3 months later on March 24, 2015. She was laid to rest on March 27th, which also coincided with AFE Awareness Day. Her daughter, Parker Ann, survived and is the greatest, lasting gift Leslie could give.

“We miss her so much. Not a day goes by that we don’t think of her or feel the ache of her absence and we know she is watching over Parker Ann”, says sister Kaci. Leslie’s family has also chosen to support the AFE Foundation through awareness and fundraising events in their hometown of Alabama. From hosting a golf tournament to a chili cook-off, they have raised over $10,000 to help fund the important work of the AFE Foundation. “We do this in honor of Leslie and to show PArker Ann just how incredible her mama was. We hope these finds will help end AFE so that no other family must experience this heartbreak”, shares Kaci.
