The AFE Foundation is setting up a virtual art museum and is commissioning budding artists to feature their works of art!
If you have a little Georgia O’Keeffe or Vincent VanGogh, be sure to have them enter our Be the Light to End AFE Art Contest. The theme of the art contest is our communities’ guiding principle of “Be the Light to #ENDAFE.” Be the Light can have different meanings and interpretations. Below are some suggested symbolic objects and ideas to inspire our artists.
- Light bulb
- Shedding or casting light
- Illuminating something
- Showing the way
- Helping others
Children between the ages of 4-21 are invited to participate. Selected winners from each age group will have their artwork transformed into a special keepsake of their choice (for example a pillow, mug, journal, etc). All artwork and images of the artists will be featured on our website.
Artists may use any medium of their choice and artwork should include the phrase Be the Light and/or End AFE. Kiddos under the age of 7 do not need to include the phrases.
Suggested mediums include but are not limited to:
- Ink pens
- Colored pencils
- finger, watercolor, oil, acrylic
- Graphic art
Finished artwork must be able to be scanned and uploaded in a PNG or PDF. Artwork should be 8.5 x11 inches/ 215 x 279 mm or smaller. Works of art should be submitted between Jun 21, 2023 and August 21, 2023.
